What is up shawties!!!
Ok lowkey there isnt much to talk about because my last p-day was quite literally 4 days ago..... so here ya go!!
My pictures: https://photos.app.goo.gl/h2MunHpv7FBt582w8
๐ค STORY TIME ๐ค
☆Steven hit on us and anna got jealous:
We had been trying to plan a day for a lesson with our friend Steven that we put on date about 2 weeks ago. He kept sending us this text that said he needed to talk about some “issues”, so we asked him and he said “Anna's issues”(the woman he is living with). Guys, I kid you not this woman is JEALOUS of us coming over and teaching Steven! BAHAH WHAT. Mind you, they are both like, old.๐๐๐ Given, steven kept calling us really weird things like “my love” and saying how he loves us…..soooo we stopped teaching him. God was protecting us frfr. #fightinoffthepedos
☆ Dannie Boy got to the Temple:
We took our new member Dannie to do baptisms for his first time!! Guys, he is a miracle. This man got baptized within 3 weeks! (Just before I got to the field) He is just so elect and the sweetest old man!! This experience was a highlight of my mission so far, he got to baptize and do baptisms for his wife, parents, great grandmother, and grandparents. HOW COOL! ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
Every time he came out of the water, he was cheesin the whole time. I love that man.
☆ The Marion's Sealing:
Oh my heavenly days…I love this family with my whole heart! We had a member lesson with The Marion's, Brother Marion was a past member and just converted back to the church like 3 years ago and his wife a year ago. Anywho, they got sealed to their family this weekend!! It was such a stressful process for them and it finally happened. We went over to talk with them about the temple and bring some courage and peace. It was so sweet, they were so excited but the adversary was just eatin away at em. Sister Marion broke down in tears telling us about it and thanked us for the spirit and love that even just our presence brought. ๐ฅน I bout near cried. Such a blessing for an amazing family! The Lord knew I needed the Marion Family.
☆ Shout out to Daddy Bert!!!
Yesterday was my dad's birthday and father's day! WOOO! A day for the king Father bertrude himself! Bless up to all father's out there, I am forever grateful for you! Love you dad ๐
I got to talk with him and It made my day! I also got to call my grandpa and he told me all his many funny stories, then got annoyed that they send "pretty girls" out on missions because the creeps get to em. (Hes got a point) but im glad I'm out! (Not for the creepy old men but you know what I mean) He then proceeded to give me some life advice for the mish: "Remember sweetheart, they can't eat ya." That was it. Call ended. Not sure what it fully means but whateva whateva. I love my grandpa bro he makes me giggle.
☆President Matswogatha:
YAYAYA we get to meet the Matswogathas on thursday and im so excited!! We get to go see all my fun zone buddies and eat food and meet the legends from Botswana!! I'm so hyped! We're missing the Hathaways tho, #RIPinthechat๐ฅฒ
๐คฉRIGHTEOUS MOMENT ๐คฉ
I had been re-reading President Nielsen's talk from October 2016 called “joy and spiritual survival”, He says:
“My dear brothers and sisters, the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.”
I live for this quote!
Yesterday in church, they asked a Non-member to speak! He did amazing, his wife is a member and they are just awesome.
He spoke of this exact principle that President Nielsen taught. He goes on to say:
“ Gratitude comes from perspective not our circumstances.”
I love these two quotes because they perfectly draw out the importance of how we view things in our life. As we adjust our focus on the Savior and have charity towards God's children, life gets all the better. I'm not saying life is easy, because boy it's not, but as we change our perspective, we begin to see the big picture.
Whatever you are looking for you will find it, if you are looking for the little bad things in your day. You will find the bad. If you are looking for the good, the miracles. You will find the good.
Enjoy the little things because everyday you will find joy. The little things we take for granted open our eyes once they are gone.
I've seen this one firsthand as a missionary for sure. I took way to many things for granted (especially my mom's cooking...mother you are an angel. I'm sorry for ever complaining about your food)
Anyways....
He then went on to ask this question:
“ How much do we assume the people we love know that we appreciate them?
When we express appreciation they feel seen, valued, loved.
Gratitude as an action is far greater than the statement.
Even in less than Perfect circumstances there is so much to be grateful for. “
He gave us 3 invitations that I want to extend to you all to do this week!
1.Try to notice 3 blessings every day
2.write a note and Thank someone
3.Pause to appreciate someone you love
Show you're gratitude!!
Gratitude is one of the only things that benefits both the giver and the receiver.
How you view life is a choice.
Choose to see it through God's eyes.
I love and miss you all!!
Have the best week ever!
Remember Jesus loves YOU!
Love,
Sister Coon ๐ฉท

Alrighty Hick Nation was a party this week...
I'm gonna be so honest, I don't remember hardly anything from this week so I'll tell you these things I do remember....I think.
My next pday is on monday the 22nd btw. Just to let yall know.
☆ZOCO!! guys this was lowley such a fire zone conference. It was so amazing, the spirit, the messges, the love. They shared how the savior is our glue. He is the sealant that holds us together! President gave us life advice of course. Specifically us sisters ๐ he told us the requirements that our husband has to have so we each find our "peculiar priesthood man". He does tie trades with the elders and like 30 of them asked for the tie he was wearing and gave it to none of them....but got the exact tie for the sisters to give to their peculiar priesthood man when they find them. Guess we'll see who gets the ties! He made some good jokes. Hahaha gotta love it. It was a Bit depresso mode because it was our last one with the Hathaways....RIP in the chatttt๐ it's chill tho. President Matswogatha is comin on the 22nd!!
☆ Bro people just know how to ragebait down here. We have very powerful first meetings and teachings with our findings and when the time comes for our next lesson, We have had almost all of our lessons cancel on us like an hour before we have it. We got the MPL, the lesson plan, everything broooo. LAME SAUCE. Be so fr this is your salvation...lock innnnn. The real ones pull through tho.๐ซกjust means God has something fire comin up!!
☆Had a nice little sleepover in our bathroom again!! TORNADO BABYYY๐ช
Sister Neilsen said I slept through the first hour of sirens (I thought they were apart of my dream....oops....they were in fact not) then my stupid phone had to scream at me to wake up. I lost some good sleep that night... its ok well alive tho!
☆ Church was so bomb!! High key what I look forward to every week ๐๐a kid in our ward was giving his farewell, all their sons spoke. One of them was a return missionary and the spirit was just amazingly present holy crap! It was cool to be on the other side listening to someone leaving for the Mish, someone who got back from their mish and experiencing it all as a current missionary.
☆ WE HIT 3 MONTHS BABYYYY LETS GOOO!! #Servinthelord #blessuppp
☆ EXCHANGES ๐
Queen Sister Alita and I partied it up bro. Got that work done frfr, locked IN. She's aweseome I love her. I learned so much, got some BOMB braums burgers and ice cream. We workout every morning and trued some goofy ah workouts...people pull some strange moves to workout bro. Got them big moosies ๐ชWe got stopped by this dude and his wife at DQ and mans was YAPPIN for 40 mins. I kid you not we couldn't even get a word in, but they said they'd possibly pull up to church so thats lit!
☆ I got catcalled AGAIN! We were walking down the street and some dude drove past callin us some fun things, whistled, and honked at us. Bro i'm bouta start throwing hands wigh these fools bro. Golly gee, why does this keep happening ๐ญ
☆ OH MY, our members meals are aweseome!! Sister Anderson has us over on Monday and made THE most FIREEEE enchiladas and sent us home with 4 containers of food. Mmmm we be munching all week guys. The fatty in me is so blessed while living in Missouri. Scrumpdilicious!!
☆ I almost passed out in walmart.....
Ya thats all you need to know how that one...
☆ We talked to this lady named Mary and god really tests your patience. She is THE sweetest little old lady, bless her heart, We had the same convo about 3 separate times in one standing....girl be havin dementia....she will be in my prayers. Gave her a Book of Mormon and the spirit was spittin bars when we were teaching her. Good times.
☆ I've almost hit about 3 birds, 2 squirrels, a cat, and 1 Sister Neilsen... these animals are askin for it. (Sorry Sister Neilsen๐ช) Not my fault they run straight in front of us. Im a good driver I promise
๐คRIGHTEOUS MOMENT ๐ค
I was reading in Alma 32 this last week. (Fire chapter btw)
It shares all about growing our faith from a mustard seed into a blooming tree. As we work to grow our faith daily, its roots dig deeper and the tree strengthens the bigger it gets. Becoming immovable.
Alma 32: 28
"28 Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me."
Alma 32: 41 - 43
"41 But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life.
42 And because of your diligence and your faith and your patience with the word in nourishing it, that it may take root in you, behold, by and by ye shall pluck the fruit thereof, which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, yea, and pure above all that is pure; and ye shall feast upon this fruit even until ye are filled, that ye hunger not, neither shall ye thirst.
43 Then, my brethren, ye shall reap the rewards of your faith, and your diligence, and patience, and long-suffering, waiting for the tree to bring forth fruit unto you"
Nourish and strengthen your faith. It takes patience. Diligence. Long suffering. As we continue to find ways to build our Faith in Jesus Christ. He is our rock. Our foundation. The roots that keep us standing strong when the whirlwinds come blowing through our lives!
I love and miss you all!!
Update me on all your lives, and remember jesus loves you ๐ฉท๐๐
Peace out ✌️

WEEK 13 ๐ฟ may the squirrel live in heaven
What is up shawties!!
How was everyone's week? How are you all?
Good I hope!
https://photos.app.goo.gl/h2MunHpv7FBt582w8
Hick Nation is somethin else, lemme tell ya. People are so very interesting here (as always) and I lowkey vibe with it.
To start off….
☆ I RAN OVER A SQUIRREL (hence the title of my email) we were driving to Joplin and erm…. This squirrel thought it was a good idea to eat an acorn right in front of my tire!
Sister Nielsen and I sharply gasped and screamed “SQUIRREL!” Then all of a sudden, I created a new speed bump in the road. Oops… let's just say there was loud silence in our car after that. #heavengainedanangel ๐ผ๐ฟ
Anywho….
☆ We had a fire MLC-R last week in Joplin!
Got to meet some of our cutie new missionaries that just came in, they're in for one for sure….hahah they're fine.
We got back home and sometimes you just get reminded you are a girl…these ratchet old farts cat called us as we were knockin their street. Don't know why but men are the only people who seem to listen. They need elders in some of these areas, we teach people and you can't tell if they just listen to ya cause they're lonely and single or if they genuinely just want to know god. WHO KNOWS BRUH, whateva whateva. I'll take what I can get, use it to your advantage I guess…. ๐คท♀️
☆ Sister Nielsen got the plague again. We stayed home for a little and I had way too much free time on my hands. Some of you will be gettin a letter from me soon… You never realize how much time you have in a day until you can't do anything. Its all good, I got lots of study time! I love it!! it also down poured again, WOO!! I love rainy days!!
☆ WOW I love fast sundays. You never truly appreciate Sundays until you are a missionary. Sundays are my favorite! I've made it a goal for myself to bare my testimony every fast Sunday, it has been such a powerful tool in strengthening my relationship with the savior. I bore my testimony the first Sunday I joined the Monett ward and now everyone remembers who I am….so I guess that worked ๐ I just love the spirit that is room when testimonies are shared especially when all the cutie kiddos got up to talk!! They know their savior and it shows dedicated love for Heavenly father!!
☆ We put our friend Steven on date!!
Guys….I never thought I would put an old man on date for baptism that had no shirt on while wearing animal print leggings that were barely holdin on with them nonexistent cheeks. Heaven help me, Sister Nielsen and I PRAYED he didn't turn around. Unfortunately we didn't pray hard enough…it's alright.
It was AWESOME! He's a goofy man but he wants to become better and find Christ in his life. Let's pray he comes to church and keeps those commitments frfr! He'll do it. I have faith!
☆ In all honesty it's been a rough week for me. The Mish puts some real pressure on you. Its alright, I'm alright. Takin it one day at a time, learning, loving, having faith and trusting that the lord has me doing the things I need and in the places I need to be in at the right times. Fun times!
☆ yay fun news!!! My favorite girl Eva from home, Navea, got endowed this weekend YAYAYA I'm so proud of her!! ๐ฉท
☆ We finally got in contact with our friend Darrin! Some of the hollidays have been screwing us over fr, with everyone going out of town or to their families different churches, so he was gone for a bit. But we got to share a good lesson with Darrin! The spirit was so strong and it was definitely God's timing for us to be there for him.
☆ We found a new friend named Val! She is actually amazing and so cute. We met her yesterday and she might be YSA but we got to teach her about Christ, the Atonement, and all the good stuff. She was super Interested and we got a return appointment YAY! She has promise!
☆ Had some good lessons with some of our new members. My fav cutie Evonne is planning on getting her Patriarchal blessing soon which is so exciting and she is just so anxious to get endowed! I love it! She has so many sad moments in her life that she tells us about and my heart has just become so empathetic for each and everyone of the people we talk to and teach. Life is Hard. With Christ it's doable
☆ I almost ran over a cat… oops… add it to the tally board I guess. ๐
That's pretty much it!!!
Time for my favorite part….
๐คRIGHTEOUS MOMENT๐ค
Ok so this week we were studying a BYU devotional given by Elder Holland called “Remember Lots Wife”
HOLY THIS TALK IS FIRE
I'll just share a couple points he made that I loved.
"Her faith in the memories of the past were far greater than her faith for the future,
Do not dwell on the past. The past is to learn for the future. Not to live in the past.
Faith is always directed towards the future.
We miss the here, now, and tomorrow because we are so trapped in the then."
"Dismiss the destructive. Until the Atonement of Jesus Christ has revealed to you the beauty of your bright future. Everyday ought to be a start to a new life. “Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be. Trust god. See all. Nor be afraid."
"The substance of things not hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Is there any future for me? Will I be safe? Will I be sound? Can I trust in the Lord and my future? "
"Will it be better to go back with lots wife?
Faith is for the future. Faith builds on the past but never longs to stay there. Faith trusts that God has great things in store for us, That Christ truly is the high priest of good things to come."
One of our new members, Sue, said something in one of our lessons that went perfectly with it! She said,
"There's a reason the rear view mirror is so much smaller than the windshield.”
Have faith that the lord has such a bright future for YOU!
The past only holds us back from immense growth. Move past it. Hope for things which are not seen. Have FAITH.
I love you all so much!!!
Let me know how my people are doin! Update me on your lives, it brightens my day!

WEEK 12 ๐ how the frijoles is it JUNE
Hey y'all!!
I hope and pray you all are thrivin and livin your BEST life god gives you!
Send me any updates on your lives! I love nothing more than to hear from you guys!! WOO!
PICTURES OF MY ADVENTURES ๐ธ
https://photos.app.goo.gl/h2MunHpv7FBt582w8
Welcome back to Hick Nation!
First off, HOW is it JUNE??!! WHAT!
crazy stuff man. Time flies when youre servin the lord I guess.
Here's a fun little fact from this week before we get goin….
I got yelled at by a gas station cashier that since I was mormon I couldn't drink a body armor because it was against the word of wisdom….he then reads my name tag and proceeds to say “WOW…thats an unfortunate last name! Imagine a lesbian couple openin the door and reading that name, geesh”
WHAT IN THE WORLD, guys I bout lost it ๐ where in the heck did a lesbian couple come into that… I love it here ๐๐
We started off our week on thursday with the Day of birth of the queen herself ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ….NICKI MINAJ!!
(That is my beautiful amazing wonderful mother) I love my mama! Happy birthday!
The rest of that day took a turn on me…..
STORY TIME
We were knockin doors and the neighbors 2 dogs (a huge black one and an annoying little chihuahua lookin thing) booked it towards us and they seemed nice at first but NOOOO…. Boy was I wrong. The black dog opened its jaw and ejected its gnarly, monster lookin ah at me bro! My leg was bout near gone!!!
I had to say to myself under my breath “heaven help me, this dog wants my life” Luckily the owner grabbed the dang dog's collar before it actually bit me…. Its paw nicked me a little but there's a reminder to always have god on your side or he might let the dogs loose on ya! We still alive tho!
I don't got much of anything new but this whole week we spent a Butt ton of time finding and filtering. Didn't really find anyone but MAN did we find a lot of yappers.
We met this one lady and she gave me a good laugh. ๐ she opens the door and immediately says “Sorry I ain't got my hair done, no teeth in, but luckily I do got my brar (bra) on!” people say the dangdest things. THANK heaven she got her brar on๐ god truly was watching out for us on that one.
We had a few solid lessons with our new members, they are just amazing! The light that continually grows in them is the best thing you ever see. ๐คฉ An interesting thing I've learned is that everyone takes the gospel in at different paces and in different ways. It taught me to understand the needs of others and what we could do to best help them grow their relationship with God. Amazing how much that works HA… who woulda thought ๐คท♀️
OH MY…. One of the biggest joys of being here on my mission (besides the teaching and giving people the gospel) is the kids! I LOVE KIDS!! They are so beyond entertaining and adorable. When we knock doors, the kids are always doin somethin random in the background.
We knocked on this family we found the other day and as we were trying to talk with the mom, (she had 3 boys) 2 of her boys ran out in their diaper and underwear, running and hollerin. The mom yelled at em until she finally started to chase them around the yard screaming at them to “get your butt inside right now!” ๐๐ the boys just gave her a snarky little smile and ran faster. We decided to give them some time… the Amazon driver was dying laughing with us as the lady caught her kid and gave him a nice smack on the butt. Good times, good times. Kids, gotta love em.
It DOWN POURED on us a couple times this week. On Saturday, we had been eating dinner and I kid you not, we were pretty much in a tornado of a rain storm…..So I decided to go play in it!! WOOO best decision of my life! Sister Nielsen and I got SOAKED #worthit ๐
I wasn't bouta let that storm pass without gettin a nice dance party in the rain out the way!
The members in our ward are legit angels!! We have some of the most amazing meals with all of them, not even just the food but it's the best to have a good conversation with them. You can tell they love the lord and they love their families!! Sister Marion, one of my most favorite ladies in our ward, brought me THREE boxes of girl scout cookies!! OH MY HEAVENLY DAYS, my big back is in heaven! God is GOOD ๐ฅฒ๐
The Monett ward truly does have some of heavens angels sent here on earth.
We have been teaching Our friend Butch in little pieces step by step because he is a very slow progressor. He is so elect! We've been helping him to pray and make his prayers meaningful. We called him last night to follow up and as soon as I said hi he immediately goes “ Sister Coon! How are ya!” Hahah love butch. He's been prayin!! He also asked us if he could pray for a wife, we at first thought he was asking if one of us could be his wife but thankfully that wasn't the case…. We told him anything he wanted/ needed, he could pray for. Funny, the desires of people's hearts.
I dont have much else sooo….
๐คRIGHTEOUS MOMENT ๐ค
This week, two of my most favorite people have been on my mind. Lacey and Navea. ๐ฉท
This will go somewhere trust….
I'll start with Navea. During training, Sister Nielsen was teaching me about layering invitations. Showing me all of the many points of a door approach to peak someone's interest. She compared the story to Navea. NOT a good idea (it was a great idea) She had told me, “imagine if the missionaries knocked on Navea's door, and never gave her those invitations. Where would she be now? Not able to go to the temple, not getting endowed, unable to feel the full joy of the gospel.” OH my heavenly days I was unwell, I haven't cried that hard in a long time. I never would have even thought about that….Navea was baptized last year and has made such an amazing impact on my life. She is my motivation to keep pushing through to go out and find more Navea's when things get hard.
One of my best friends.
This now ties into lacey. I love Lacey, my bestest friend!! She is serving in Australia right now, she's been the best example of a missionary to me and sent me an email with a link to the “Ricciardi letter” by Danny Humphery. Go read it, It is SO amazing! It shares so many different experiences that all missionaries have. I had read it in my personal study about being bold (the same day as Sister Nielsen's training about layering invitations.)
In Alma 38:12 the lord tells us:
“12 Use boldness, but not overbearance; and also see that ye bridle all your passions, that ye may be filled with love; see that ye refrain from idleness.”
In the Ricciardi Letter “ Ricciardi defines overbearance as, “boldness without love.” when people know and feel your love, you can never be too bold!”
The lord prepares people for us, we just need to have faith and put in the work. Be bold! Do everything in our power to help others grow their relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ! Do it with love!
You don’t need to be a missionary to do the lord's work. The lord tells us to love and serve thy neighbor as thyself.
Share those invitations and be bold with love so our friends can come to have a relationship with their savior and show them the light that leads our everyday lives.
Those people we find, the friends we make, they are blessings. They are not just people. They are children of god, treat them as such! LOVE THEM! Be the missionary that is their leading hand back to heaven.
I am so grateful for Navea and Lacey. God knows who we need in our life.
I love love love you all so much, and I hope you all know that!
Enjoy the rest of your week!! ๐ฉท๐ฉท
Peace out ✌️
,Sister Coon
For anyone that wants my address, just email me and I'll send it over to ya. I'll be here in Monett for another 5 weeks.
Love ya!

Howdy hoodlums!
I hope you are all good?!
https://photos.app.goo.gl/h2MunHpv7FBt582w8
Welcome to this weeks episode of hick nation....
Prepare yourselves for some crazy lore drop!
Idk how else to write this week out and keep it short so imma lay it all out for ya.
THURSDAY: We taught one of our new friends, she's this funny old lady named Helen. As we were teachin her the Resto We kept askin her questions like when she had felt the spirit and such.... somehow that question lead into her tellin us that her ex husband shot her adoptive mother in the back 4 times and a week later only found 90% of her body. She said she hoped he had repented but later found out he died in prison because he got cancer. How that conversation turned so quickly we Have NO clue ๐
FRIDAY: One of our new members Eric bought Sister Nielsen and I ice cream at braums ๐ฅน he was so excited to tell us that he was getting his Patriarchal blessing!! Wooo!! We also popped our tire....it was kinda a miracle, 2 members pulled up not even 5 seconds after we had pulled over and helped us get our car to the tire shop that was AROUND THE CORNER yayyy. We got out and back to work within 15 mins! They're some odd duck people but awesome!!
SATURDAY: Full Press and quenchers day babyyyy!! We had 3 friends locked for church! Yay!! There also was apartment inspections...Elder and Sister Christienen said Sister Nielsen and I had THE cleanest apartment ๐ thanks dad for teaching me to always clean up after myself
SUNDAY: NONE of our 3 friends came to church bro! What the frijoles!! Imma have to start goin over and drag em by the ear fr.
We stopped by each of their houses that morning too! Got to go to young women's for church so that was so fun, I miss young women's ๐ข
We also had a fire time teachin our good Ole boy butch! He said he always hates when the Jehovas witness guy keeps coming cause he feels uncomfortable for some reason, but is more willing and comfortable to listen to us. He said he dont know why... BUDDYYYY I WONDER! There might just be somethin called the spirit duh dur duh durrrr
We also helped these 2 Mexican dudes move their car out of the road cause they ran our of gas.... serviceable queens ๐ซก
MONDAY: MEMORIAL DAY! ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฆ
๐
Today was somethin.... we had a couple of members who just moved from Texas into our ward and they asked us to help them move all their stuff into a storage unit. Man guys im tellin ya, these were some ODD people. They're very kind tho! It had rained all weekend so all their stuff smelt like mildew and other yummy smells.... the poor wife was doin all the work while the husband just chatted it up with Elder and Sister christiensen! Boys, if you wanna get smacked by your girl OR the possibility of the sister missionaries....that's a DANG good way to do it. Oooo we are representing the lord, so you take deep breaths and keep serving ๐ it was chill
After that my most favorite sister Anderson invited us over for some tri-tip and scrumpdilicious food!! Yayyy! He son was tellin us how he was in love with one of the past sisters and asked us for advice ๐ good times
TUESDAY: TRANFER NEWS DAY!!
We started off our with a referral call from this dude who was a past member but left because APPARENTLY he went to prison for 10 years for being found guilty as a sex offender and said he was "found guilty cause I couldnt prove I was inoccent"!!! GIRL BE SO FR, I couldnt hold in my laugh, it was 6:45 in the mornin.... too early for this stuff man๐คฆ♀️
I saw a squirrel get ran over too...
Not that you needed to know that but I was shooketh and shouldn't have laughed but I did. Sue me ๐คท♀️
Anywho.....
On the flip side!
We helped one of our new members do his family history. The spirit was so strong (mom is see why you love doing it now). He wanted to only be sealed to his first wife, she died after only 10 years of marriage. He told us that he went to her grave the other day and told her they would be together forever soon. I lost it. The love that this man has for her. He has never lost an ounce of love for her for the last 40 years. #Bring back old love ๐✊️
Our queen Evonne took us to a steakhouse for dinner and it was BOMBBBB oh my! Also I tried occra... it tastes like a booger that had been warmed in the microwave. Not my cup a tea thats fs. EEYUKKK
Our transfers call was awesome!! Peak cinema! ๐ All of the departing missionaries gave the most fire testimonies, I had to say bye to my tongan baddie Sisita MoiMoi ๐ญ๐ญ I love her. BUT we stayin in Monett, MO for anotha 6 weeks with THE Sister Ginger queen herself, Sister Nielsen!! Wooo! Partyyy! Mega slay for transfers.
PDAY: today were headin over to Cassville with the district and playin some good Ole pickle ball and goin on a "hike" (we ain't got no mountains here so it lowkey a neature walk) then back to workkkk ๐ค
RIGHTEOUS MOMENT๐๐คฉ
In my personal study this week I read a talk by Bonnie H Cordon called
"That They May See"
https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2020/04/42cordon?lang=eng
Its so good! Go read it!
She shared a story about her as a child leading Elder L. Tom Perry down a dark path to the chicken coop while swinging around her flash light, in doing so he stepped into a massive mud puddle. She stated from this experience that she was "shining her light but not in a way that would help Elder Perry".
After, she then focused the flashlight just ahead of his steps where he was able to confidently/safely home.
I love how this story truly emphasizes shining our light to lead others confidently home. She then shares:
"The Lord’s invitation to let our light so shine is not just about randomly waving a beam of light and making the world generally brighter. It is about focusing our light so others may see the way to Christ. It is gathering Israel on this side of the veil—helping others see the next step forward in making and keeping sacred covenants with God.
The Savior testified, “Behold I am the light; I have set an example for you.”
"You and I have enough light to share right now. We can light the next step to help someone draw nearer to Jesus Christ, and then the next step, and the next."
LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!! let it shine so our friends can find the path and confidently return home to our heavenly father. Be the example of the light of Christ, let it shine so bright they won't get lost, in the darkness and the confusing paths of the world.
Matthew 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

We also went to visit one of our new members andddd their house was quite literally gone!! They never told us when they moved! While also getting the most passive aggressive text from them for “no help moving”... girl be so fr

Saturday: Full Press!! Tons of knocking bro...

But it wasn't helpful that everywhere we went reminded me of my mom.. bruuhhh
It was alright we got food and treats so yay!
I got to have the best FaceTime call with my beautiful mama, Nicki Minaj herself! AND the woman who gave her life. GRANDMA queen Vicki Jo! I love them. I just let the tears rip with them, I love my mom and grandma. My mom is my best friend, I can't imagine a world without her. ๐ฉท

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT ๐
I have really come to know the meaning of this statement: There is opposition in ALL things
In 2 Nephi 2: 11 it says -
"For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility."
In other words, without opposition we would not know joy!
In order for us to even know of happiness and of right and wrong, there needs to be a conflicting side. It sucks to hear that there are bad things that happen in this life, but we come to know what true peace, love, righteousness, and happiness are to be.
The lord took on ALL of that opposition because he knew we wouldn't be able to handle the full intensity of it alone. He bore our pains and sufferings.
He knows the hard.
Why wouldn't we endure those little moments of trial? Like the long hard days at work....maybe we just think we cant make it through another day.....or we are even doubting ourselves.
No, we cant go everyday with that mindset. Go about your day thinking, "sure there were some tough things today"
But dont dwell on it, find the GOOD, look for those little miracles that kept you pushing through!
You are capable of so many things, Our father in Heaven would never put us through something he knows we cant handle.
Opposition is the opportunity for joy!!!
Our redeeming love of the Savior is so great he gives us chances to find our happy!
GROWTH HAPPENS THROUGH THE REFINERS FIRE ๐ฅ
I love and miss you all so much!!
I loved hearing from all of you this last week!!
Peace and love,

CRAZY NEWS GUYS๐
I hit my 2 month Mark last Saturday!! Wooo
Who knew you could be a missionary that long. Wow amazing things happen here! If you know me, I am in fact a big back and I like to munch so I went and gifted myself with some honorary cupcakes to celebrate!!
Bussalussss
Also this may be tmi but if I have to suffer through it im gonna hand some of it off to y'all. There are very many pretty sights here like the pretty green trees or the sunsets but there are also some you least expect, that being the amount of plumbers views round here.... heaven help me I pray these people dont turn around or I get a nice full moon view ๐ send prayers
Other than that its awesome! ๐we've got lots of lessons with our friends this week so were thriving! Speaking of.... Apparently I teach in my sleep... Sister Nielsen said I was sleep talking the other night about the restoration principles ๐ gotta be fully consecrated in the work ya know
Above everything else, THE PURE JOY of my mission and all of my experiences here (besides the friends and people I have met) is the relationship I have and will continue to grow between my Heavenly Father and I.
I love that everyday I get to have the opportunity to be in tune with the spirit and feel my father in Heaven leading me every step of the way! He truly is amazing!
My biggest tip to you all is to put ALL of your trust in the savior and heavenly father. They will NEVER let you fall, if you trust.
๐ธSPIRITUAL THOUGHT ๐ธ
A common mistake we can sometimes make is thinking life would be easier or better to give yourself some extra time to recharge by, skipping church only a few times, going to bed early after a long day without reading your scriptures, or procrastinating the important things for the next day.
These little things can soon turn into a habit. The one night you skip scripture study or prayers can then turn into a couple days missed, a couple weeks, then soon enough, months have passed.
As we take our focus off of the savior, the storms of life come crashing down, our faith begins to diminish.
My favorite story in the scriptures is the story of Peter in the midst of a storm.
The disciples had been lost in the large waves of the ocean, with the whirlwind taking them off course, losing all hope of getting back. In the distance they see something.... the savior walked through the cover of darkness and waves.
Peter locked his sight on the lord, focusing his faith in him. He soon had both feet out of the boat, standing among the brutality of the storm.
As he walked into farther into the water, he became afraid, beginning to fall, crying "lord, save me."
Jesus immediately stretched forth his hand, pulling Peter out of the water.
Just like this story, we always need to keep our focus on the savior or we become afraid and begin to fall saying "lord, save me".
The savior is ALWAYS reaching out to save us and lift us up out of the depths of the stormy seas. Trust in Him. Know he is there for YOU. Let your faith never fail. He has faith in you.
I love you all and I hope you continue to seek for his hand reaching out for you!
Peace out,
Sister Coon ๐ฉท
